District 92 Grading Scale, Homework Policy and Friday Folders
Grading Scale 90 - 100 A 89 - 80 B 79 - 70 C 69 - 60 D 59 and below F *All assignments will be out of 100%.* Homework Policy Students will be given time daily to work on assignments and ask for additional help from me. It is imperative that students learn the responsibility of using class time wisely and completing assignments on time. All assignments are due the morning after they are given unless otherwise stated. |
Assignment NotebooksAssignment Notebooks Students will be given an assignment notebook to record their daily assignments. It is an important communication tool. Parents please be sure to check and sign it everyday. Assignments will be noted in it, as well as important notes pertaining to class or school. Time will be given in between classes to write assignments. Additionally, we will try to fill these notebooks out together as a class at the end of each school day. I or another adult will scan and initial each planner for accuracy before students are allowed to leave for the day. This assures both the teacher and the parent that the students know exactly what is expected of them regarding the next day's assignments. In the event that a student forgets his or her planner at home, I will have an assignment sheet available for students to fill out. Please initial your child's assignment notebook every day once all work has been completed. Students will have the opportunity to earn points for prizes at our class store. |
Holiday Celebrations and Birthdays
Holiday Celebrations and Parties
All classroom parties at Reed are "food free," in an effort for all students to safely enjoy them. There are many non-food creative options that allow for all students to experience the festivities. Please ask your homeroom teacher for ideas. Birthday Celebrations Any student wishing to celebrate his/her birthday or half birthday (for those in the summer) is welcome to do so. Summer birthdays are welcome to celebrate on his/her half birthday or at the end of the school year. Students MAY NOT bring in any edible (FOOD or CANDY) birthday treats. Sending non-food items, such as pencils, stickers, and fun erasers are a great way to share in the student's celebration.
